Version 1.0.0.2
– Fixed injected attacher to work better with certain vehicles

This addon extends the capabilities of the in game winch system, allowing it to attach and move things other than trees. Anything with trailer-type attacher joints, as well as dynamic objects like bales and pallets are also supported.

This was written as part of a collaboration with Roughneck Modding Crew for use with their upcoming line of winch enabled mods.

This is done by targeting either tension belt or collision enabled shapes with the cpu mesh flag set. The mod includes a small “hard point” attachment shape that is automatically injected into many in game vehicles at the trailer attacher locations.

These hard points can also be created and added to any location inside of a vehicle or object i3d to allow the winch to attach to those locations as well. These nodes can take three user attributes as well.

thWidth (float): The width or size of the object along the X axis
thLength (float): The length or size of the object along the Z axis
thHeight (float): The height or size of the object along the Y axis
Additionally the attachment “ring” can be made larger or smaller with the use of two binds. These are registered to right-shift + colon, right-shift + quote by default. It is also possible to change the attachment ring orientation by pressing right-shift + L by default.

That’s it, it’s pretty much a plug and play system. The only configuration really required would be if you wanted to add more attachment points to different vehicles than are already injected into the game.

V1.0.0.1
Fixed issue where some vehicles would not turn properly

Thank you for sharing the details about the Better Winch V1.0.0.2 addon for FS25. It's great to see the improvements and additional features added to the in-game winch system.

The ability to attach and move objects other than trees, such as items with trailer-type attacher joints, bales, and pallets, expands the usability and functionality of the winch system. The inclusion of a "hard point" attachment shape injected into many in-game vehicles at trailer attacher locations provides a seamless integration for users.

Moreover, the flexibility to create and add hard points to any location within a vehicle or object's i3d file enhances customization options. The user-defined attributes (thWidth, thLength, thHeight) offer control over the size and orientation of the attachment points.

The key bindings for adjusting the size of the attachment ring and changing its orientation provide convenient controls for users to fine-tune their winching experience. The plug-and-play nature of the system simplifies usage, with minimal configuration required unless users want to modify or add attachment points to different vehicles.

The fixes and improvements made in version 1.0.0.2, such as enhancing compatibility with certain vehicles and addressing turning issues from version 1.0.0.1, demonstrate ongoing development and responsiveness to user feedback. The collaboration with Roughneck Modding Crew for winch-enabled mods showcases a community-driven approach to enhancing gameplay in FS25.

Overall, these updates and features contribute to a more immersive and versatile winching experience within the game. Players can now enjoy expanded possibilities for interacting with objects in the game world, making tasks like moving bales and pallets more realistic and engaging.
